Hot 97 & MENAGE A TROIS MOSCATOS hosts “A Blended Affair”

This past Tuesday August 8^th, the Hot 97 team graced the infamous SOB’s with a special showcase.

Linking up with MENAGE A TROIS  MOSCATO, Hot 97 created a customized event with some of the hottest up and coming talent in the NY area. Hot 97 had DJ SPYNFO on the 1s and 2s the entire night and in between acts, the guests to this invite only event rocked out to some oldies but goodies and some of the latest Hip Hop and R&B club bangers. J Medina kept the audience hype all night.

Justina and her band opened up with this punk rock/hip hop act and had SOB’s jumpin! She stepped out into the game with her fiery lyrics and bad ass performance. Even asking the audience to throw out a word so she could kick a freesytle to it. That one word was “One Night Stand”. EPIC.

The next artist, brought us that smooth sounding soul and contemporary R&B music. Anthony Flammia and his brother, father (with shoutouts to his mother) were an instant crowd favorite. He had the audience moving to the keys on his piano and his powerful voice. That’s a one talented brother right there.

Finally, the closer came from Brooklyn’s finest, Miss Cocoa Sarai herself. Simply put, she was electrifying. From the stage to the floor and then back on the stage, her energy was infectious. She had everyone on their feet and on a journey with her from America to Jamaica then finally to their childhood room where they had to face themselves. Her performance was awesome.

The “Blended Affair” was a real treat. Open Moscato bar provided by MENAGE A TROIS  MOSCATO all night, great music and great people, I just had to reach out to Hot 97 and ask more about how events like this come together. Mainly, I was wondering how people were chosen to be a listener since it was invite only.

Chris from Hot 97, and one of the coordinators from the event explained that people could get selected two ways: 1) They announced on the radio for all listeners to text “wine” to the station. 2) Enter online at Hot 97. Winners were randomly selected. I’m glad I was one of those people.
